Author and historian Ben Schofield interviews veteran cyclists about their experiences on tracks and the road in Melbourne during the 1950s and 1960s. Many of these cyclists were world class and helped make Australia a major power in cycling. The book includes copies of newspaper clippings and other images, as well as photographs - many never before published images from the personal scrapbooks and collections of the interviewed riders.

Ben Schofield is a trained historian and has been a cycle racer for 32 years. His first book was ‘Wheel Life – cycling recollections of the 1950s and 60s’. He subsequently wrote the ‘Brunswick Centenary History’ and ‘Brunswick Centenary Interviews’ books.
